If your carrier SIM card is not V1 this method will NOT work, because U CAN'T get Ki number from chip! Bassicly V1 SIM cards are at least 7 years "old" SIMs. U CAN'T know for sure if your SIM is V1 ,V2 or V3 before u try to extract Ki with WORONSCAN software(download below). If Woronscan can't extract Ki number, your SIM IS NOT V1, and U CAN NOT proceed!


SuperSim DON'T work on iPhones with 04.13.03_G and 04.04.05_G basebands

For start U will need:

1. an iPhone with AT&T(or O2) card which came with it!
2. Serial SIM Reader/Writer (Infinity USB Unlimited, Dynamite Programer(I used this) ,etc...)
3. SilverCard (http://img131.imageshack.us/my.php?image=silvercardtipfq1.jpg)
4. Your SIM card (It must be a V1 ,U must be able to get Ki number)
5. Download :
SimEmu 6.01 - http://simemu.gsmhosting.net/SIM_EMU_6.01_CFG_v2.1.zip
Woronscan 1.09 - http://www.kinforce.com/down/kinforce/supersim/ws109.zip



1. ::Getting IMSI,ICCID & Ki number from your SIMs::

Step 1 - Your(V1)SIM

1. Put your carrier SIM card in programer
2. Run Woronscan
3. Click on "Tasks" tab then on "IMSI select" u will get a IMSI number, write it down.
4. Click on "Task" tab then on "ICC select" u will get a ICCID number, write it down.
5. Click on "Tasks" tab then on "Ki search", in pop-up window just click "Search", and wait,Ki extraction has began.(I was waiting for mine 40 min:eek: ) When u get it, write it down.

Step 2 - Getting IMSI from AT&T SIM card which came with an iPhone

1. Put your AT&T SIM card in programer
2. Click on "Tasks" then on "IMSI select" u will get a IMSI number, write it down.
3. Close Woronscan
4. Remove SIM from programer

Now U have all "data" to make SuperSim.


2. ::Making SuperSim:::D

1. Download & extract - http://rapid_share.com/files/146099341/iPhone_EEPROM_FLASH.rar.html(Remove dash "-")
1.a Put your Silvercard in programer
2. Run Sim-Emu 6.01 Configurator v2.1
3. Click on Configure tab
4. Click "Read from disk" button
5. Browse to your downloaded Flash&EEPROM files, first double click on SIM_EMU_6.01_iphone_u1.HEX and then double click on SIM_EMU_6.01_iphone_u1_EP.HEX, now they are loaded,positions 0 and 9 are red colored,thats fine.

6. In position 0 , type in data which u got from your carrier SIM with Woronscan - IMSI,Ki & ICCID!
For ADN/SMS/FDN# type 161, 15, 4, for SMS Centre type in your carrier SMS center number. Type in
some numbers for PIN1 and PUK1, remember it.

7. Now select position "9", here type IMSI from AT&T SIM card ,and PIN1 ,PUK1 number same like in position "0" ,NOTHING ELSE!

8. In "Config mode" tick "Files" circle button.

9. Click on "Write to disk" button,u'll be asked to save new created SuperSim Flash&Eeprom files,Save it!

10. Write those NEW created Flash&Eeprom files on Silvercard with your programer software!

3. ::Making your iPhone work with SuperSim::

1. Put your created SuperSIM in iPhone

2. Jailbreak & Activate your iPhone and thats it, u should now get signal!
(search the forum for "How To" for your iPhone version)


Note: If U will be using 1.1.2 U NEED iWorld application to make SMS and phone work, u can find it in Installer-->Tweaks(1.1.2). Install it, run it, select your country, reboot iPhone if it doesnt automaticly.

- If after Jailbreak and Activation your iPhone still dont accept SuperSim proceed below:


1. Download - http://rapid_share.com/files/74205465/SuperSim.rar ,unrar folder from inside to Desktop

2. Go to - https://ookoo.org/iphone/iasign.php ,under Activator v0.2 type in DEVICE ID, IMEI ,ICCID. Click "Generate"

If u're on WIN click on "download a custom activator v0.2" to download *.exe , now move it to SuperSim folder.

If u're on MAC click on download your generated activation record to download *.plist file TO DESKTOP. (after download RENAME IT TO a.plist !!!!!!)


WINDOWS

While your iPhone is still connected to PC double click iphoneinterface.exe in SuperSim folder,now type one command at the time:

cd /System/Library/Lockdown/

putfile /System/Library/Lockdown/iPhoneActivation.pem

exit

Now double click that long digit exe file u downloaded in step 3. to activate your iPhone with SuperSim!



MAC

1. Copy iPhoneActivation.pem from SuperSim folder to /System/Library/Lockdown/ ,with your favorite tool

2. Download the following file to your Mac.

3. Extract it to a directory on your desktop named iPhoneTool , AND COPY YOUR DOWNLOADED a.plist file OVER that one already inside!

4. Open the program “Terminal” location in HardDrive/Applications/Utilities

5. Type the following command into the flashing cursor:

cd ~/Desktop/iPhoneTool

6. Now make sure your iPhone is connected and you quit iTunes

7. To activate your iPhone type the following command into the flashing cursor
(note that there are two dashes before activate):

./tool --activate a.plist

To summarize once more :) - this solution is supposed to be a clean network registration, and using a Silvercard is a temporary step to another version, with different hardware necessary, which will work on all subscriptions, with no cloning necessary, if this step is validated and hardware experts join the party :)

So people able to test it should try it and report their results, especially regarding incoming calls.

If some guys have access to a GSM radio analyzer (let's dream :D, but why not, with the upcoming CCC gathering who knows), verifying that no "unexpected" data is emitted on the radio channel and that the registration is indeed normal would be ideal.

oh, it's not a silly question at all :)

Unfortunately it can be patched and disabled quite easily. But if you don't perform any baseband update you should be safe.

This is not a generic "SIM cloning & register with pre-existing files" attack.

The problem is ICCID is validated with the network. If your provider gets nasty they migth just block your account because you raised a fraud alert (cloned sim of victim for freecalls etc.).
In other countries, even if its sounds stupid, such things are considred "altering/tampering of telecommunication network" which is fined (i.e. here wehre I live) with a minimum fine of 3 yrs and up to 5yr prison, based upon some state telecom monopolistic laws from the 70s/80s (the days you werent even allowed to open your phone yourself without facing a fine).
So I tell you be careful with altering network specific things.

one question, i reactivated one very old sim card (year 2000) and one which is build around 2006, how can i see which version this sim cards are? Is there a tool out there which can tell me what version the simcard is i.e COM128V1 or COM128V2?

Another question is, is it true that extraction from "modern" simcards are risky because it can destroy the simcard?

Yea i think so. The manual to cut it is on the tutorial on first side of that tread. It's easy to do this, so don't worry about that. I can say it for sure, if it had to be cutted or not, after mine is delivered to me.

I only need this last info: I can see people from Italy on the forum, and I see for example that both rsivan and palu use TIM, which is my operator too. How old are the sim cards you are extracting the Ki from? I think I have a 32k from some years ago, will it work?
What sim did you use? 8k, 16k....?

Also, if others from Milano want to do this we can arrange to work together, I can see that the price of the card writer is about 70 Euros with shipping and 12 Euros for the silvercard, we can order together and share the price.

Just tested it - works fine with Orange UK - Call In/Out, SMS In/Out. Great job to
everyone who made this possible (specially to the guy that edited the Hex file).

I used the subscriber ICCID, so maybe is best to edit the tutorial - activation should
be the last step.

My thoughts on safety of using this: If so called 'Total Unlock' is released, it will be
probably patching of the baseband firmware to do a similar thing. So no worry about
alerting the network, the trick seems to fool only the good/bad guy check in the
baseband firmware.

No for me....i think these USA iPhones have only EDGE, but here in Cro we dont have EDGE, only GPRS, 3G....so its not working,but if your country have EDGE it should work! I do see "E" letter by the carrier logo.:cool:

Wow that was quick! Congrats. I'm on O2 in the UK, but my SIM is relatively new - about 2yrs old - so does that mean its probably a V2?

I've also got an older O2 SIM (a 32K one) issued via CPW (Carphonewarehouse); is there any way of telling if that's a V1? I am wondering if go into CPW and get a new O2 account whether they could assign the number to that older SIM (if its a V1) and I could then clone it onto a Silvercard to use it in the iPhone... I can get access to a Duolabs Dynamite Programmer, and could easily order a Silvercard if it was worth it...

Does anyone know who/if anyone still issues V1 SIM cards in the UK, or when they stopped doing so...? I'm dying to try this out if its possible.

Wobei ich mir ernsthaft in den Arsch beisen kann das ich vor paar Monaten mein Vodafone Vertrag gekündigt habe! Da war ne 3-4 Jahre alte Karte drin die wäre gegangen.
Naja wenns mein Provider die nicht rausrückt ists für mich erstmall vorbei denn den 128Bit Schlüssel einer V3 Karte bekommt man kaum so schnell auf.

Just an advice to all people trying this method.
Most carriers do offer a "TWIN" sim card (a sim card that can receive calls like the original card and make calls as well) This can cost some euros but it's worth for 2 reasons:

1) the carrier will know that you have 2 sims
2) usually these sims are old (because they are sold not often as the "master" ones)

Today I managed a twin sim with my local provided (TMS) wich is Tim / ITALY - it's a 64 k... so I can work on this instead of my main one...

I hope this can help.

That's about the COMP128 algorithm and it's also written there that on a COMP128 V2 SIM the KI cannot be extracted using any software actually on the market!

Also there is a hint that T-Mobile doesn't use COMP at all!

So I'd say "no chance in Germany" :(

and it seems that the IMSI is made of
-Mobile Country Code digits and
-Mobile Network Code digits

wouldn't that be an easy way for a mobil phone company to see that you've hacked a SIM card ?
they just have to filter their DB with their network code and an US country code. (the country code of the original at&t IMSI).

Now, maybe they will let users do this hack, because if their user do it on their networks, it means that these users have an iphone and can potentially change their mobile company. letting users perform this hack would keep these users as subscribers.

problem is, for the moment the hacked SIM emu is based upon a tip given in this forum some time ago that's not fully understood, but seems to work - the best given explanation is that there's a bug in the baseband, reading the IMSI more than once, and the 2 first IMSIs are only used internally to validate the SIM lock (i.e. they're not sent over the air).

so if this theory is proven to be right, the SIM should be seen exactely as the original subscription, and this hack should be fully transparent.

they could reject IMEIs, even if the unlock hack is transparent, but I don't think any operator will come to that, that would be pretty extreme

I would suggest being patient, waiting for an unlock rather than tinkering with something you are not 100% certain of.

You may formulate your own ATT IMSI... just follow the required code and format.

Find a original Simcard COVER when you buy a simcard from your moperator they are giving you a BIG card and you are taking onut the sim card so there is a hole just put a SLUE type in back sibe and stick it and than put inside the programmer ;)

Hi, guys:

After spending a lot of time, I learn something about the sim cloning.
Maybe someone want to know kind of things. :)

1. When you got a Silver Card, it may empty within. So the SIM-EMU can't recognize it as an GSM sim card. The error message will be "No Card Inserted".

2. To solve this problem, you may need "IC-Prog" to write the loader(Flash) and the EEPROM into Silver Card.

3. This part you will need two hardware and two hex files. To write the loader(Flash) you need JDM writer. To write the EEPROM, you need the Phoenix Card writer.

These things confuse me a while. So if you guys need to know something else, and happened I know, I'm glad to share everything to you. :)

See I do agree with that, but ive been reading this forum 10 times a day.. every day staring at the top right corner of my screen waiting for the little yellow "iphone unlock" to turn green.. every time i refresh i get excited, then disappointed.. im not incerdibly disappointed.. i waited a few weeks before buying one.. hoping the unlock would come.. then kept waiting since ive had it .. just using it as an ipod.. waiting waiting.. but i just cant wait anymore.. id be happy to donate $100 to the dev team to get this done quicker but it just doesnt really seem to be coming along as quickly as i would like, not that i dont enitrley appreaciate the efforts, your all doing a wonderful job, but maybe im just a little too impatient? ..

That will be difficult because in normal cases till will have no V1 in stock (I think the guys in the callcenter doesn't know the difference).

The best way is that you ask them If you can get an old 5 Volt SIM Card because your Car-Phone can't handle the 3.3 Volt SIM Cards. Their is no other way to get an V1 SIM Card

doesnt the iphone come with one? ( or does it have to be an activated card ) as i have a unactivated Iphone. Please explain in details.

2) is it possible to get the KI ( Subscriber Authentication Key ) from the Provider ?
I know a few that work at my provider and they use a system called BSCS

3) im not sure about what V sim cards my provider uses. and the simcards that they
issue have no marking what so ever ( other then the providers logo) any way in
finding this out ? what i know is they are using sim cards from Schlumberger. Is
there a software out there that would detect what card you have ? ( this way
people can just check and not ask weather His/her provider is using.) ( would
make this main post less spam with the same questions)

thats all the questions for now :) what would be nice for someone that knows all about this and was successful in working it out to basically give us a few min of his time to read the posts and post 1 really good post with all the answers for the common questions that people are asking. that way this post would be clean and not have 1000 posts about the same issues and what not.

Not at all, it's still you, your card.

Turbo sim modifies content of your sim on the fly, i.e. will do att imsi fakes but your sim does your imsi, gsmo algorithm. You still have your phone book etc. Seems bladox guys played with this already, there is something in their forum.

Another question which a lot of people are asking is, how can one find if the SIM of the intended carrier is V1. I am guessing that there would be no visual way of finding this out.

Actually i am really on the edge here (no pun intended) and i have even filled up my shopping cart with the silver card and infinity programmer at one of the online stores which can ship to india. But i am not too much of a programmer...and i am on a MAC (but that is not a problem as i can run windows in emulation or natively as well). If this method works across the board, i will go for it.

V2/3 use different, unknown, secret algorithm. No chance.

Little clarification: if turbo sim were used then you don't care about v1/2/3/anything. You leave this to your card to do the proper network auth.

I just reviewed the info about turbo sim. This looks like the perfect workaround!
( it does cost more than a silvercard)

Can you just program the turbo sim with for instance the unlimited usb card writer?

Thanks to Vladimir_CDI,ozbimmer, who figured this out! I Just wrote a "How to...", let's start....


Step 2 - Getting IMSI from AT&T SIM card which came with an iPhone

1. Put your AT&T SIM card in programer
2. Click on "Tasks" then on "IMSI select" u will get a IMSI number, write it down.
3. Close Woronscan
4. Remove SIM from programer

First, i am sincerely grateful to Sassha who make this instrument , oz and everybody who devoted a lot of effort of this sim cloning method. When i got my silvercard and read/writer this morning i can't wait to try this solution, every thing is great until the step 2 . As i put my iPhone AT&T sim card in my card read/writer and run woron1.09 , there is the problem come. It shows:

PIN1 is disabled
PIN1 remaining 3 attemps
PUK1 remaining 10 attemps
09:30:01
Starting 2R attack on 0 pair....
The GSM algorithm is not comp128-1 ...Scanning stoped...

I am assured that is my iPhone's AT&T card , but why would this massage
out ? Did my iPhone get the newer sim card? How could i know my IMSI in other way?
