Hi as you know almost ALL sim cards in the uk are v2, apart from very old orange sim cards. Anyhoot *if* i was able to get hold of an orange sim card v1 can i then ring up orange and say i broke my current v2/v3 sim card can you please transfer my account to my new sim card ( the old v1 ). Then i could get the KI and carry on the cloning??

that's highly unlikely, if not impossible :) operators won't reuse old accounts, they'll just be happy to issue you a new SIM that won't be clonable.

Anyway, that shouldn't be a problem soon - the patched SIM EMU is not really intended to be used directly, it's a proof of concept for a "SIM modchip" that won't require cloning your subscription. People will probably start working on it once this patched emu is proven to be successful.

So just be patient and enjoy the software or semi-hardware unlock method, whatever comes first :)

ok so your sayin that we dont need 2 use new sim cards now and we can just use our old ones in a couple of days with this new patch???? :S

sounds confusing 2 me

Yes, you'll be able to use your original subscription. Bear in mind that it won't be a patch, it'll be an hardware device, if such a thing is designed, and I don't think anybody can give a delay for the availability of such a tool today :)

To rephrase, the patched SIM EMU was the first step (validation) to get such a device designed. Now, if this validation is successful, this device can be created.

btw that kind of tool looks like some interesting CCC material, I hope people attending will be able to have a look :)

ive got a vodafone v1 sim I got in 1996. Im currently at 61250 in the gsm algorithm for KI.

I have tried endlessly to find Ki on Vodafone UK Sim Cards, most of the "Sim Cloning Forums" say its impossible, because of the algorythnm they used.

Like you I have an old V1 sim and 2 active V2 or 3 sims (not sure), have tried the Woron Scan program, and also the Sim Scanner V10 that comes with the SimMax Card Reader/Writer.

If anyboady has managed to find Ki on a Vodafone UK Sim, I think there' s alot of us that want to know how!!
