Hi Guys,
Ok so i got myself into a little Jam, but i'm convinced that its not to hard to get out of it hopefully. Here's my problem. The iphone is running version 1.1.1
Recently purchased an iphone from someone who was on the At&t service, i mistakenly thought that because it was activated already because he was on At&t and had already installed the installer on his springboard then all i had to do was install AnySim 1.1 and the phone would be unlocked.
However i put my Fido Sim in and i get a "different SIM Detected" "please connect to iTunes to activate.
Now my dilemma is, can i just use the *#301#* technique to activate after it has already been activated? If my iphone had the installer, i'm assuming my phone has been jailbroken?
I know there is a program similar to Independence that i can use to activate it with PC originally but not sure if it can be applied to this situation, and i don't remember the name of the program?
Let me know what can be done please. Thanks alot you guys and thanks again to the Dev Team and everyone else who contributed for AnySim. Stupid me though i screwed it up. LOL

i would do the activate/jailbreak - unlock procedure again after restoring a fresh 1.1.1 firmware

I have this same problem... I'm curious to know how this issue will be resolved. I'm running 1.1.2 with a 3.9 bootloader

reactivate your phone

Well, I might be mistaken, but I think you only need to activate with the new SIM. If you're on a Mac, use iNdependence. Not so sure about the tools for Windows - run a search here.
Hope this helps - let us know.
Cheers

8GB iPhone running 1.1.2 in Canada on Rogers network, all features functional. Also tested on two different Orange networks in Europe.

reactivate your phone

Is this concerning me or "rdawodu" member.
If me, and you say that i can activate the phone after it being in the condition stated above then how would i proceed to activate the phone Frisky Dingo? the method on iphone.unlock.no?

I've done this so many times. It just doesnt work. Will try again though, but this time when i update to baseband 112, i'll downgrade back to 111 while still running the 4.12baseband then run anysim 1.2.1u. Hopefully that works

I'm still unclear how to Reactivate after i have done all this? I am not with At&t btw. i am with Fido (CANADA).
Do i put restore and then reactivate? or just reactivate alltogether?
If so, how?
Thanks again.

mixmaster209:
i believe i had the same issue last weekend with a customer's 1.1.1 phone. his was activated already thru AT&T but not unlocked so i decided to take it on for myself to unlock. i uploaded installer thru ibrickr and then ran anysim with my sim card installed. unlocked successfully and phone worked perfectly. now i took out my sim card and inserted his (both same network) but i got the same error msg "different sim card". i wasn't too worried cos i then shift + restored to 1.1.1 using itunes without a sim inserted and that went thru fine. phone was no longer activated so i used the unlock.no method to bypass that and then downloaded anysim 1.1. ran anysim 1.1 with his sim card and all works fine now.
hope this works for you.

i'm hearing that all i have to do is restore back to 1.1.1, then reactivate it with the fake method, and jailbreak with jailbreakme.com. then it should be fine because the unlock isn't affected by the restore?
Am i correct?

i believe you are correct, but i wanted to be extra safe so i actually re-virginized the baseband and then restored just so the phone was like factory state.

How did you revirginize the baseband?
using the reviginizer tool in the installer?
did you revirginize before you did the restore??

Virginzer only works on 111 firmware. Make sure the baseband your baseband and the version of the virginzer you have are the same.

Was your iphone activated on the ATT network? Where u using the iphone with att? and then decided to unlock it? IF so! You need to restore your iphone without the att simcard in it. And "Hactivate"(*#307#....BLAH BLAH BLHA) then run anysim. The next time you connect ur phone to itunes it wont ask you to activate it or any of that being as it's already activated.

Guys thanks for all the help.
I just finished unlocking the phone using your tips.

Here's what i did in case anyone is looking to do the same:

1. Virginize the Baseband using "The Virginizer" 04.02.13 in the installer.
2. Restored the 1.1.1 firmware in itunes.
3. Hackivated/Jailbroke phone once again using the popular method.
4. Installed AnySim 1.1
5. Ran AnySim
6. Phone Unlocked
7. Uninstalled AnySim
8. Phone works perfectly.
