Aussie iphone questions.

Hey,

i just bought an iphone from america, which i believe is 1.1.2... probaly a bad choice seeing as there are no really great unlocks etc. etc.

my main questions are becuase im new to this scene.

whats the difference between jailbreaking your phone and unlocking it? same thing?

question two. i saw this and am trying to follow this guide to "jailbreak" the iphone.

has anyone done this and can help me on a step or two...

yes. well if anyone has any links or guides to unlock 1.1.2 ... for another country or use ... please let me know thanks. just that ppl say look around, i have, but most are for US only etc. etc.

It really doesn't matter what country you are in because you can't unlock it. Jailbreaking is when you make it so that the iPhone can run third party software. Unlocking is when you can use other sims other than AT&T (in the US). Try www.unlockthatiphone.com

Also, please search next time. You say you did but I doubt it because these were very simple questions.

yeah i didnt know much about the iphone n i thought i was 1.1.1 so i tried all these other unlocks n tutorials i've found. but unlocking the 1.1.2 i hadnt' found that many... that were actually understandable or straight to the point.

Thanks for the link, yeah the thing is my ipod is after 45th week so i have some stupid bootloader or something that prevents me from unlocking it as of yet. only way i can is i buy a simstealth or something which is another 80 dollars +

anyone know if there is any progress on unlocking the 1.1.2 latest?

lol i am currently trying the tutorial that nic sent, i am up to the jailbreak.unlockthatiphone.com part where i am supposed to install app or something, but the site is "not found" :( sigh
