But apple realizes that is losing face? Since the iphone was hacked apple has lost the battle forever.
It is now widely reported that the iphone be used. hundreds of thousands of people are buying iphone abroad for only bricks unusable. I personally I still here I bought in 20 iphone, Christmas holidays, that are 20 bricks.

But apple that tells these people?

They are medical doctors, architects, engineers.

Apple is losing face... when Nokia will do everything to gain lost ground.

The battle is LOST !!!!! Now is possible only lost the customer forever.

The question is much simpler. The customers who buys the product for example in italy, imported it through friends or in England has already see many peoples around with the iphone unlocked.

The people don't knows.. what apple wants or does not want ... what apple.. can or can not. Buy a product thinking that the company that sells iphone directly or indirectly able to use ....... as for all other mobile devices.

This Furiously of Apple to be closing iphone is pure self.

People are aware that loses the warranty. But today everything is disposable. Among 30 days leaves the new iphone model and the old is thrown.

But Appple ! tell me today ... How many customers don't can use your product purchased ?

Yes that is my fault but next time be sure I personaly won't buy anything from apple just because they made me stuck with hundreds of bucks, and there are many great or even greater products and brands than iphone/apple. If you have iphone and go abroad the chance not to have roaming is one of your troubles and if you by chance have rouming EDGE will help you to pay the biggest phone bill you ever imagined.
And what is discussed is that people are disappointed from the apple's product ( as explained, seeing there are unlocked phones people bought phones and now are stuck ) and in the future apple looses those potential customers leaving them stuck. I personally will never ever buy anything from apple and won't allow my friends buy too just because out there, there are better products. Black PR is better than no PR but not when people loose money. I don't care for beeing f***ed once, but out there there aren't many people that don't care for this sum and out there there aren't many people willing to pay 400 USD/Euros with two years contract for something they could get free from other brand for a such contract. Apple will mind after the sales slow down and the ravenue is not as high as was promissed and shareholders start asking whats going on. Apple is hardware company and should stay such and should not be greedy enough to mess in the carriers bussiness leaving the their own custommers in embarrassment.

We just have all our points of view on this "HOT" topic because it reflects to all of us.

From my perspective, it is an outrage that I, citizen of a EU country, can go to the States, buy an Iphone, come home and cant use it. Who says I will be reading a forum like this, I just want to make phone calls. Did they inform me, as a customer, that I will not be able to use it(lets say I dont use internet, it still exists ...) ???? If AT&T has the only right to sell Iphones, how does it comes that you can buy so much iphones on Ebay? Dont these guys have subscriptions with AT&T?? Apple knows about this but refuses to stop this so they are to blame again for the growing numbers of people around the world with an unusable Iphone.

Now the EU issue ...
In the EU, we have a free exchange of persons and goods (like in the US, the only difference is that the US is one country) and it should not be allowed that a company sells an item in the UK/France/etc ... which will not work in another EU member state. It is like buying an Iphone in Ohio and you are not able to use it in Florida... see my point?

I really hope that the EU commission/parliament will punish Apple for trying this within the EU. Remember Microsoft with their media player/IE issue here in the EU? They paid big time and had to change their OS... ofcourse this will not be tomorrow and in the meanwhile we are eagerly awaiting a Dev Teams solution!

Again the same comparison .. in Ohio you can buy an Iphone but in Florida you cant. Or buying a Chrysler and you can only use petrol from Shell ... Yes, the price is important to me too! I won't pay 750 euros for it, that's for sure!!!
I'm contemplating importing one but that has its risks too... And I have to decide within the week!!

Its a true fact that Apple looses many customers beacuse of that fact. Me personaly i think that Macbooks or any other Apple devices would be heaven if they wouldnt be one million percent controlled by Apple. And if you did buy the iphone knowing that youd not get to use it officially, then swallow the bitter pill now and buy a turbo/stealth-sim now and use your iphone fully and stop complaining.

If there will be a software unlock, then that's a bonus, but if you bought the phone assuming the unlock, then tough luck, hacking is always risky business and if you can't live with getting screwed potentially, then don't go down this path, go and buy a different phone or an officially unlocked one from france.

I personally am a happy OTB 1.1.2 iphone user with all of the functions with an unsupported carrier, but i knew perfectly well upon buying what the limits were and how to make the phone work and am satisfied with what i got.

Well I originally didn't comment on this original posting clip. If you did buy 20 iPhones, then that means with intent to sell. I mean you made an investment of about 20x440$=8800$ (US tax included) WITHOUT knowing for sure if you can sell them afterwards in an unsupported country???

I mean when ever I would make such a big investment I would make 100% sure that I have a way out or that it's 100% sure that I can sell them in a working configuration. If you didn't do that, then I can only say that it's gonna be an expensive lesson for you to do the study before investing. Though you can probably still sell the OTB 1.1.2 phones to those who know what to do with them.

The other point here that I'll just bring up for fun is that ... did you invest indeed aroudn 8800$ or did you invest more? I mean if you did bring 20 iPhones officially to italy then that means you had to pay also the local VAT (don't know what it's in italy, but let's assume 10%). If you did pay that then you actually invested about 10k$ without investigating background if not, then you are in addition a smuggler :P

We just can't stand waiting for the latest/greatest phone in the world, we need to show off coworkers and friends that we got it first. iPhone is the hype of the moment, not only in Italy as i see in this forum.

LinusMax is describing something that I'm also seeing here in Italy. The hype caught not only geeks or young men/women that are used to follow the latest tech, but many grey-haired professionals are now crazy for the iPhone. They see their friends with 1.1.1 fully working and want the same. I've seen lots of 1.1.2 OTB used as iPod Touch waiting for an unlock, here in Italy and TurboSIM is now 180,00€ on eBay and in shops. Three times its list price!

A couple of days ago a senior manager of an important company in Rome asked me to *urgently* unlock is 1.1.2, because everyone he is working with has an iPhone today.

I'm sure this is just what Apple wanted: build the hype, make them wait and they will even subscribe a 2-year expensive contract with TIM as soon as the iPhone is launched in Italy. And, honestly, I've met no one that blames Apple for not letting it work in Italy, everyone just know that iPhone is *exclusive*. Personally I see no lost customer here. That people is not 'Apple customer' today and maybe will be tomorrow, when they get an iPhone. :-)

thanks for the clarification i agree with your explanation of it although when it comes to AT&T and apple i believe this is strickly business. AT&T has the worst plans available right behind Verizon in the USA so a phone like the iphone was the only way of keeping the company from falling since the competition is so much better and cheaper..i guess they pulled the right strings and apple sold their souls to them and in a way 'are the heroes that saved AT&T". oh well i'm no analist so i'll just leave that right where it is i just hope apple cares that nokia is taking advantage of this contract with AT&T to get in the spotlight by promoting the fact that they don't mind their phones being unlocked and having 3rd party apps. expect some amazing phones from them in the near future in an attempt to gain lost ground.:D

I'm sorry, but from what I saw in your writing you are not a native English speaker either. Perhaps using your method of utilizing the dictionary might assist me in differentiating which part of your complex composition is nonsense. Also, I am not sure that I catch your meaning in "How do hit" and "of the e r and e key". Besides, to my understanding, "stfu" is not yet recognized a true word or major acronym (meaning the somewhat offensive acronym has not yet been entered into one of the major dictionaries), and neither is "typo".
