Please excuse the posting of this thread but I feel that something needs to be clarified.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but:

even if we see an update in the coming days or on the 15th of Jan as I am predicting, there might still be NO HOPE for an unlock!.

To have an unlock solution the update needs to also contain a baseband update, and as the current baseband has not been compromised yet, why would apple change it? (apart from reported reception issues in the UK)

Every day I see more and more posts about 1.1.3 and expectation that this is the Holy Grail! People need to understand that it might not carry the key. Yes the baseband will be updated at some stage, when we just don't know! No amount of speculation will make it come any quicker.

I think the key is 1.1.3 update can show the way to get inside the bootloader. Then if you see how it does, it's easier to put another program inside.

Sources close to Apple revealed me that :
-1.1.3 is coming in January when Apple will launch the iPhone in Italy and Spain
-Italy is already in the iPhone software (TIM Italy), not the Spanish one, so the software sill be updated to support the Spanish provider, language, country settings etc.
-updating 1.1.3 will NOT include a baseband update, so the unlock is NOT going to happen at 1.1.3 !!!!
