Yeah, if possible please try to send to geohot.
Also, contact ta_mobile, he use this forum and know how to hardware unlock.
Talk to him if there is something you can do to check how it was unlocked.
That was some commands using minicon that would result in 1,0 2,0 4,0. So maybe you can tell what happened with this one without opening.

If possible xianli, please merge all those 1.1.2 OTB unlock by the chinese man, cause there is at least 3.

my friend bought 3 week48 iphones in the States, he told me 2 of them had been unlocked, and he can make phone call by using China Mobile simcard. He was pretty sure it's not a turbo-sim or any other *sim unlock. At this moment I can't confirm if it's a hardware unlock either. There were reports about people welding a X-SIM into iPhone and pretending as software unlocked before. But I don't know whether iPhones from Shenzhen is the same "fake software unlocked" or not. So In my previous post I say "I will visit Shenzhen recent days and will check it out if no software unlock public at that time".

Underground iPhone dealers use all kind of tricks to push their sale. My post you quoted is just to explain "why someone sell hardware-inside unlocked iPhone", not means the iPhone we are discussing now belong to that type.

Personally I hope there's really a software unlock way for 1.1.2 OTB currently base on 3 sources:

1. XianLi's iPhone from ShenZhen (unlocked method not yet confirmed)
2. GSMCN and MyKy (Seems more reliable based on MyKy's background)
3. MacBook guy (Have no idea about that)

I am sure once hacker like DevTeam have a single proven SW unlocked in hand, the myth will have no place to hide.

btw: There also has two chinese ways to unlocking OTB 1.1.2.

One is 877 card which is an empty sim card. You have to read your sim info first (with a sim card reader&writer).
then writing AT&T info (also read from AT&T sim card) and your sim card info into the 877 empty sim card.
After that the 877 card will fool the iphone AT&T only checking.

Another one is just like tubro sim card.

Chinese new year is February 7th. Are you sure it's the Chinese new year? On the other thread (http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20602&page=2) posts #13 and #16 suggest it's the international new year (01-01-08).

There is no way anyone can believe those 2 other chinese guys without a single proof. The only thing they have said so far is the famous quote of how to calculate the NCK, directly quoted from geohot's brute-force .txt file....

I think I can speak for a few of us here when I say that there has been many scams out recently and I/we are a tad bit skiddish when it comes to all of a sudden the unlock has been found, and found by someone other than a Dev team member. Add to that the bits and pieces of info we are given throughout the day it is hard not to wanna jump on the bandwagon. I sure hope that the reports of the new FW coming soon coupled with the seemingly valid progress on the 1.1.2 unlock yields some promising results soon. All the forums are a buzz with this guy and his promises of a unlock release.

I may be new to this site however, I'm an avid poster over on on everythingicafe. I've had my iphone for a couple weeks now and have successfully brought it up to 1.1.2 unlocked and jailbroken from a 1.0.2 firmware. From all the guides and research Ive done over the past few months up to this point, I've found one group that has been behind all the iphone hacking and has shown consistent success....and this team is known as the DEV team. Without them, we probably would not have had these unlocks or jailbreaks in order for us to truely enjoy the iphone the way we have.

You may not like them or may have a problem with someone personally but do NOT go around dissing these guys and saying their work is plagiarized and that they've done nothing.

The question is Anthony...what have you done? What contribution have you brought to the game? When you point fingers at people always remember you have 3 or more pointing at you...and it leaves you looking like you're the idiot
