WARNING refurbished Iphones [might] have 4.6 bootloader!

I just received a refurbished iphone i bought on ebay, it was sealed and came with apple warranty and all. I paid 450 for a 4 gb phone thinking it would be a 1.1.1 with the old bootloader but to my surprise i was wrong. I called apple and they said ALL refurbished phones that left their warehouse after 1.1.2 was out have the new bootloader so be careful when buying a refurb since i know lots of people are after them.

Apple told you which bootloader the phones have? They must have thought you were some kind of freak!

yeah since i had warranty. they have to answer any question you have if you tell them you haven't opened it yet and have some questions about the software although they did ask why i was asking.i just said because it was a gift to ship overseas.

well, i recieved mine last friday and they all had the old bl and fw 1.11 thoigh two of them were week 45. But as i'm watching the boards i seem go be one of only just a few who were that lucky... So there is still a chance of getting the old bl with a refurbished 4gb phone,you should watch the imei and week to oncrease your chances: if your imei starts with 01130000 there is a big chance to get the old one.

my IMEI starts with 0113 that's WHY i bought it but it still came with the new bootloader. so please everyone be careful. Apple is re-flashing the software to put the new software up on EVERY i phone
