:) I already did... It's not like they are preselling a 1.1.2 OTB unlock. We should be supporting companies like this developing really cool toys.... even if they should have been included OTB.
With the serial stuff all well understood at this point I'll bet there's a lot of cool stuff that starts to happen now.

I love to preorder one but I can't at the moment but I will as soon as it is out and tested working OK. Nokia N95 has a good GPS and shows your location whenever you are without any wifi or internet connection

i have dev units and they work fine. i am actually working on an add on application to run with maps.app that will feed it the gps data, this is a temporary solution till a full featured app is released for the gps or until apple adds that functionality into maps.

Would it be possible to save maps locally on the iPhone (like on other devices like tomtom)? I mean 8 GB should be more than enough.
Are there any free maps out there or is it possible to extract map data from other navigation systems?

dont know if any developers are reading this forum, but what i would like to see is:
1) Storing maps so you don't have to use edge or gprs all the time to download the maps
2) Where I live the streets are not maped in google earth.I can use the satellite view to see the roads and buildings, so if I could use it with the satellite view it would be great!

Question :
On the website it said that is only for firmware 1.1.1 and 1.1.2?
Why not 1.0.2?
Is it possible?
Please let me know!

Means they only tested it with those firmwares, and TBH 1.0.2 is pretty obsolete and if you're still on it; just: why?

Stability ;) I think Drunkn was just messing with us that refuse to upgrade until there are more features in the updates... :D

I am on 1.0.2 and it is good and see no reason for upgrade. In fact it will give you more space for apps and you don't need to make a dynamic link to you app dirtectory. I want to see some real reason for upgrading and then I can go for it. Besides I have about 30 app installed and this took a few weeks already and don't want to repeat installation from beginning.

well right now you need a handshake protocol embedded into the device to function on 1.0.2, so it is simply not supported.
