ATI Radeon 9700 Pro & DVD Player

Question,

I installed native using JaS 10.4.6 DVD. System profiler says

Core Image: Supported
Quartz Extreme: Supported

Get about 40 FPS for OpenGL in XBench

Any DVD I try to play locks up the system unless you can manage to get out of fullscreen, then it plays like 1 FPS & skips chapters automatically. Tried using the Callisto driver (all versions) by Omni with the same results.

Any ideas ? :confused:

OK, I figured it out with some major reading on osx86project. Turns out I had to use the IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.4.5 which is on the DVD but 10.4.6 overwrites it. Once I coped that over using pacifist, made sure permissions were correct & rebooted, everything was kosher. Now get spinning widgets, cube effect, & DVD player works albeit without sound as my SB Live isn't supported.

agree, I have a fully working cube effect here using IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.4.5, also solved many problems in my 10.4.6, just in case you don't have it, I also attach it here
