Hi all, just wanted to say hi, i am new hear, but i have read all the post hear on this amazing guide (Tutorial: Jailbreak & Bypass Activation for UK iPhones by Trunkz) , and so i hope if i ask a question, and it already has been asked then i am sorry,

ok so i went in to my local CPW today and got a i iphone, witch i can tell you was a experience, lol, once i agreed to buy the phone i was told i would not be able to pay in cash ?? man i kicked up such a fuss, anyway they said ok they would take cash, BUT then i was told if i did not activate my iphone they the people from CPW would come and collect the iphone, !!!! to witch i laugh out loud and said i liked to see you try, anyway i paid cash and they don't know where i live, lol, right that over with sorry i just though that might be a funny story to tell..

ok now to the first question

1. Can i Jailbreak & Bypass Activation for the iPhone i just got from CPW running 1.1.2 i think with a Powerbook G4 PPC (sorry if this is a stupid question)

2. I am pretty confident that if i follow everything in this guid i will be able to put a PAYG 02 sim in this phone, and if i get it wrong i can just do a restore, and the phone should go back to the original state that it was in when i got it.

3. ok if the above is true, when the unlock come out for 1.1.2 will i be able to use it, if i use this guide

4.ok just one more thing dose anything, CPW could make me take back the phone if i dont activate it

p.s the phone is still unopened just waiting for someone to let me know if it's ok to go on.

Jailbreaking/activating never has been a problem with 1.1.2, I don't get your point.
Unlocking is a different story, if this baby has bootloader 4.6 (and it surely has), there is nothing you can do right now.
I also doubt that you can use your iPhone with ANY O2 SIM. If O2 uses the same registration/activation process like AT&T and T-Mobile, iPhone subscriptions get a SPECIAL SIM card which are the first activation process is "connected" to the iPhone your using, meaning that you can't use a different O2 SIM from a non-iPhone contract in the iPhone. I know there have been many posts claiming something different but up til now, I haven't seen any CONFIRMED proof. Apparently there are some jackasses over here who confuse people just for fun, I don't get it why people do that.

I tried my T-Mobile iPhone with five(!) different T-Mobile SIMs (different contracts) and it didn't work, iTunes told me to contact T-Mobile to get an "approved" SIM or to have the faulty SIM exchanged. Same with AT&T, if you want to use for example a new iPhone with a FULLY activated and working AT&T iPhone contract SIM, you need to re-activate the new iPhone to the SIM, which also means that the SIM won't work with the old one anymore.

One of the keys of the registration/activation/unlock process is iTunes, it is some sort of mediator/decryptor for every communication with the Apple servers.
So even if you would succeed in making a O2 PAYG SIM working with your iPhone (which I still doubt but maybe), the next time you connect your iPhone to iTunes with a live internet connection (or even without!), iTunes will deactivate your iPhone, maybe even "lock" the SIM again.

Another thing to think about: T-Mobile Germany for example asks for unlimited data (if you exceed 5 GB(!) per month, the EDGE speed will be reduced to 64 kbit/s), unlimited HotSpot usage (they have 8000 hotspots in Germany in key spots) and 1000(!) minutes included talk time 89 Euro per month. At Vodafone, my monthly phone bill was usually around 300-350 Euro, the phone calls alone were around 150 Euro per month, sometimes 200 Euro. So for me, 89 Euro per month is a good offer, especially since I really talk around 15-20 hours per month and it fits the tariff.
I won't even mention the fast T-Mobile EDGE network (using Vodafone GPRS works fine too but watching YouTube movies sometimes didn't work) over here in Germany which has superb EDGE coverage even outside city areas. There is also Visual Voicemail, a very nice option which actually for the first time made me use my Mailbox again (I always turned it off). T-Mobile is also planning additional free services for iPhone customers, like Google Map tracking/navigation through their network (similar to Navizon) and other options.

I realized that sometimes it may make sense to go with an iPhone contract just to benefit from the advantages and so far, I haven't regret it. To each his own I guess.

Btw: the sales person at T-Mobile told me that when the UMTS/HSDPA iPhone comes out, they'll offer a special upgrade package for existing iPhone customers who want the UMTS/HSDPA version. It may take a while though, it seems that before the UMTS/HSDA iPhone with 16 GB flash memory is coming, Apple may offer a 16 GB flash memory EDGE iPhone in a couple of months to keep the iPhone "hot".

Just curious, 997TT, did you tried your iPhone SIM card in other phones? Do it work flawless on them? Other locked/unlocked phones not from Apple.
