is it true guys? I heared that inside the iphone there is a counter which keeps counting the number of times that the iphone is downgraded, jailbreaked etc.

the fw 1.0.2 had 10 "unlocking" processes limit and fw 1.1.1 has 3. after this the iphone gets totally locked and it needs to besent back to apple.

is this true?

This is soo BS.

First of all, iPhone Dev Team hacked their iphones soo many times that if there had been a possibility of sth going wrong after 4th, 5th unlock we would have known it right away from them.

its not a counter it's actually a little evil gremlin that Steve Jobs manage to have installed in every phone. This way you won't over unlock your phone

I can vouch for this... It came out of my phone and bit my pinky after trying to unlock for the 10th time on 1.0.2 :(

Same here, not only did it bite my pinky, that nasty little gremlin also cleaned out my bank account, deleted my harddisk and scratched my entire CD collection of naugty photos with enourmously large-breasted girls wearing red-haired wigs. The CDs with blond girls were not touched luckily.

I am going to file for extravagantly-high punitive damages against Apple soon. Im case anyone is looking for me - I am hiding in my nuclear bunker.

As far as I know anySIM as of version 1.1 resets the NCK unlock counter.

This is what I understand as well.

Apparently re-virginizing resets it as well.
