Quick answer needed: What does 'restoring' do?

Hello My friend !

Did you buy the iphone from the UK ? on Nov 19th ?? if you did then clicking the restore button on your itunes iphone page will make the iPhone turn in to a "factory reset" iphone BUT you will have an option to restore all your settings e.g. music videos contacts and emails.

If you unlocked your iPhone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 then yes you will have to go back and jailbreak your iphone.

Basically, I just bought an 1.1.1 phone on eBay, so I want to sell on the one I had, and I dont want the buyer to have any difficulties, or the phone to look any other way than it did when I got it out of the box early last week. So that means I want all my music/data erased.

I'm also considering jailbreaking it, but leaving it unactivated. That shoud be possible too, no?

Sorry to be so cautious, but I need to get this right.
So when I hit the 'restore' button, I will still be able to start anew with the jailbreaking/activation process, ie by downgrading to 1.1.1 etc, right?

If the phone was an OTB 1.1.1... Id proberly do a shift restore back to 1.1.1 and keep the firmware at 04.01.13_G because the unlock process is easyer then unlocking 1.1.2 with the firmware 04.02.13_G at the moment.

As it's a UK bought phone, it's an 1.1.2 OTB, with 04.02.13_G.
