cannot connect to your device

please plug your ipod/iphone into your computer ( which it is )

If your still having trouble, restart the computer, reconnect the device and try again.

more info would help

as in was your phone 1.1.2 out of the box? or did you upgrade from 1.1.1?

It was 1.0.2 OTB. I updating to 1.1.1 and followed the steps for 1.1.2

Everything went well until the jailbreak windows.bat thing!

I think the steps are 1.0.2 -> 1.1.1 activate / Jailbreak, then OKTPREP(spelling), then do the UPDATE to 1.1.2 (not restore which will whipe out the prep step) then do the jailbreak.bat

is that what you did?

yes I did all that and now I'm at the black screen where it says it can not connect to the iPhone.

well what is your iphone showing now? it should be slide for emergency? correct? if it has the connect to itunes picture then you need to get it out of restore mode, use Ibrickr for that(easieast way IMO)

my only thought is to go back to 1.1.1 jailbreak it, run oktoprep again, UPDATE it to 1.1.2 and (remember update not restore) and then try again :P

not sure about apptap, I used Ibrickr, just hit the first selection, if it goes red ur good to go, if its green , you need to redo the 1.1.1 and oktoprep restore. once it brings you out of DFU mode(i think thats what its called), you slide for emergency, then its *#307# press call, your phone will ring, for me to answer i have to put in 1 then call while its ringing, once you do that, answer then put it on hold, then decline, that brings you to an ew screen, press contacts,

add new url : prefs://11
and http://jailbreakme.com

then go to prefs and turn autolock off, and select your wireless network(make sure it connects), once its selected click the home button,

slide for emergency, press 0 and call, answer then hold again, and then decline, go to the jailbreakme.com link you added, scroll to the bottom and install it, it will kick you back to the slide for emergency screen, wait about 1-2minutes(it will reboot on its own) and it should be activated then,

then you do the OKTOPREP step, then UPDATE to 1.1.2, then jailbreak.bat :P

you've gotta be missin something, I dunno if it matters, but if i move ibricker from where i extract it, it wont find my phone either, Try starting fresh, virginize your phone. redownload the jailbreak file, extract it somewhere and keep it there?

I dunno, it worked for me :| twice

Errors using 1.1.2 Jailbreak
If you encounter a "cannot connect to device ..." error in Windows
Try turning off all firewalls (XP/Vista/McAfee/Norton etc) until system restart.
If you encounter a "at java.lang.thread.run <unknown Source>" error
Get the latest java updates by going here: http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en&host=www.java.com
If you encounter a "Cannot launch iPHUC!" error while trying to run 1.1.2 Jailbreak in Windows
This is caused by a path problem in the JAR file... so to fix this do the following:
Extract 1.1.2-jailbreak.zip to c:\xxx
Open up a command prompt (start->run type in "cmd" hit enter)
Type in "cd c:\xxx" hit enter
Type in "set TEMP=c:\xxx" hit enter
Type in "set TMP=c:\xxx" hit enter
Type in "windows.bat" hit enter to run jailbreak again, and follow the instructions on the screen.

Tested ok:)

The same thing happened to me when I tried to jailbreak my iPod Touch. The way I got it to work is to make sure your iPhone doesn't go to sleep. So right before you click on the 'jailbreak' button hit the home button on your iPhone and it should work. :)
