Can you use a US 1.1.2 iPhone with a UK O2 SIM CARD?

As the title states. Can you use o2 or at&t or is it just at&t on the us phones and o2 on the uk phones?

If you're not talking about unlocking, and simply getting a contract then yes. I was able to use an o2 SIM and stick it into a US phone and iTunes 7.5 prompted me to activate my o2 service, with the o2 logo, etc instead of AT&T like it used to do on pre-iTunes 7.5. I'd def give it a go if you want an o2 contract on a US iPhone.

You can use anysim if you unlock it however.

Was that a US 1.1.2 OTB or was your iphone upgraded to 1.1.2 and then activated on 02 UK?

I'm hoping you can do this as in about a month it might be the route I take!

Im asking if you can use an existing O2 Sim card with a US OTB 1.1.2 iPhone. I heard you could use at&t and O2 on the 1.1.2 but nothing else.

No you can not use your O2 Sim card in OTB 1.1.2 US version.
You need to jail break and unlock the phone.\

At the moment you can only unlock the phone.

Install iWORLD from installer.app into you iPhone and choose the appropriate country that you want to use the phone. I think that should do it!

Don't know, but don't see why not. Firmware 1.1.2 includes all the carrier files and symlinks for O2-UK and AT&T as well as Orange FR, T-Mobile DE and Italy TIM.

I think its unlikely, don't forget that that factory defined Locktables remain during an upgrade, and they are what lock it to ATT, the locktables don't appear to be rewritten to support all EU carriers as well. I couldn't get my O2 SIM card working in my OTB1.0.2->1.1.2 phone.

Are the locktables hardware (eprom) or software ??

I keep getting incorrect sim, so I presume this is not possible.

Ive tried changing my plist carrier files, changing AppSUpport (iWorld) no-luck.

So without actually re-programming the base-band (sim-unlock) the phone I suppose this is all not possible.
