Hey,

I have a new UK O2 iPhone and have a few questions...

If I jailbreak my iPhone using this method: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15849 what are the chances of bricking the iPhone? Is it safe to hack it and if at any point anything goes wrong will I be able to restore?

Also.. Will hacking my phone stop me from being able to upgrade to apple firmware versions in the future? such as 1.1.3 etc?

Thanks in advance!

I followed the guide and not a single problem. worked well.

though - hacking in general is modifying something in a way it was not meant to. so the general risk is always there. so the best advice is not to fiddle with the thing while hacks are working their magic and to try and read as many guides as possible - most of them are good, but you always find certain bits and pieces that one or the other has missed.

future fw upgrades - umm, well. first of all - you dont have to upgrade the first thing it comes out. your phone wont stop working. so you can sit and wait while a good and stable solution comes along and upgrade then. but here again - you never know. apple might launch a fw version the proves to be too hard to crack and a hack may never come along.

the same situation with 1.1.2 - I mysealf am eagerly waiting for an unlock. when - no one knows. no one even can say for certain, that one will come. but that is the risk one takes when they get an iPhone and intends to hack it.
