Has anyone tried running the iTouch software on anything but the native platform? I'm interested in using it on a linux pc on an OS X partition.

I'm working on a multitouch project and I thought using it with adapted iTouch software would be a perfect proof of concept.

Is there any reason I shouldn't be able to do this?

That won't work unless you have an arm plattform with the same ics (wireless lan, screen, etc.) at the same adresses. An interesting solution would be an emulator for the plattform. But that is even more complicated.

I dont think you can run ipod touch software on anything but an ipod touch. Different type of cpus etc...

You should download the SDK gor the google phone app. It supports touch screen, is much like an ipod touch and come with a phone emulator to run it on.
