Fails, buy a decent pair of headphones if they don't fit.

They don't ship those earplugs anymore, either. The new ones are even worse :D

This is CRAP. Just shave down your headphone connection, and any set will fit. I am plugging a SHAVED cable through my car stereo. No extra accessories necessary.

At the Apple Store (online and brick and mortar) they sell the Shure headphone adapter. It has a mic and call management button. And a 3.5mm jack for a pair of your own headphones. Not as elegant as the slim microphone switch on the Apple headphones, and a bit of extra cable to deal with (I use a sony pair of in ear buds that is pretty short and ships a extension cable, instead of the extension cable I plug into the Shure cable+microphone headset adapter). Shure calls it the MPA.
