activate virgin 1.1.2

can someone please tell me how to activate a virgin 1.1.2 uk o2 iphone?

do i downgrade to 1.1.1, then follow independance?
and if so, where can i download 1.1.1 from. i hear apples patched it (im not talking about 1.1.2, apparently there are 2 versions of 1.1.1)

or what?

also, i plan on using an o2 sim, do i need to unlock it?

if it's brand new out of the box, you'll hit trouble downgrading the baseband, and / or running iphone elite's anysim 1.2 hack...

the UK phones ship with a different bootloader which has scuppered our efforts so far...

thanks people, so far i have a 1.1.1 iphone with 1.1.2 modem firmware, activated and jailbroken
soi have an ipod touch effectivley... just waiting for the new unlocking processes!

you can jailbreak and activate the 1.1.2 i have 2 iphones both activated with pacthed lockdown one is 1.1.1 and the other one is 1.1.2

I think once you downgraded to 1.0.2, you will be able to unlock it using the unofficial anySIM 1.2

so you have activate a 1.1.2 phone by replacing system/library/lockdown with the patched one from 1.1.1?

Please remember that the UK iPhone is NOT the same as the USA iPhone

They have different loaders for the baseband and at this time no UK phone has been sim unlocked (unless anybody knows different)
