In all three (US,UK,DE) warranties (http://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/) it says that apple MAY restrict service to the country of purchase.

I asked the same question to an apple genius, when I bought my phone in the US.

They told me, you have 1 year warranty world wide.

But this was before 1.1.1 was released. When 1.1.1 came out, Apple said, you get no warranty when you patched your iphone.

I guess, you will have to ask in an apple UK store.....

You do not have a speaker issue , one is a speaker the other is the mic .

I don't know how Apple UK handles such support requests. But: in Germany, Apple has instructed its service partners not to service ANY iPhones whatsoever. If there's a problem with your T-Mobile iPhone, you have to take it to the T-Mobile shop, NOT to Apple.

I'd be very surprised if it were any different in the UK

No worries mate. Just go grab an O2 pre-paid sim and you're all cool with it.
