In other words,
I have allready activated iPhones for my Wife, my brother and a friend, now it's mine, and I have a vergin 1.0.2, what is the best alternative?
a) keep the 1.0.2 and play safe but may make my life harder to brng to 1.1.1 in a future stage
b) make the upgrade to 1.1.1 and than activate and unlock with the new procedures available?
what is best "a" or "b" ?
and in case of "b" what is the best guide to follow ?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm having nearly the same problem. Bought an IPhone last week!! at an apple store near San Francisco. Just checked the software and it's 03.12.06_G (firmware 1.0.0). Wonder if they don't sell many IPhones there. Now before I do anything, should I upgrade to 1.1.1 and than do the unlock with anySim 1.1?

I'd suggest for both of you to upgrade to 1.1.1 and use anySim 1.1 to unlock. Sure, you won't get some of the apps that work on 1.0.2 but I'm sure all the new apps (and the old apps) will apply to 1.1.1. I used Vormer's guide. I haven't tried other guides yet (I'm too lazy, once I find one that works, I stick with it).

If you don't need iTunes and the other minor stuff in 1.1.1 then I'd suggest unlocking using anySIM 1.1 since it works well with virgin 1.0.2 as well as 1.1.1.

than I just use anySIM 1.1.1 ?
No iNdipendence 1.1.1 to activate and Jailbrake?
is there a guide that tells me exactly what to do with the 1.0.2 Stock (Vergin).
